Jackson Bollinger is a polymath and multidisciplinary artist based in Missouri whose work ranges across music, poetry, long-form writing, film and event production/concoction. Moving fluidly between these mediums, Bollinger’s work often blends surreal humor, abstract narrative, and distinct atmospheres. His art is grounded in the ongoing exploration of memory, modern identity in the hyperreality and the uncanny textures of everyday life.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of Missouri, Bollinger brings a nonfiction sensibility to much of his storytelling. His work frequently reflects the observational clarity and attention to lived experience that documentary practice requires. Whether in music, writing or event programming, this influence appears in his interest in capturing small truths of inner lives.
In parallel with his artistic practice, Bollinger maintains a curated collection of rare iris species and registered cultivars spanning multiple horticultural classifications. He is actively engaged in iris hybridization, working to investigate novel genetic expressions, floral structures, coloration and growth habits. His horticultural work is informed by long-term observation, controlled cross-breeding and participation in the broader culture of iris conservation, classification and introduction.
